"Thoughts on Praising God"
There are many, many ways to praise God. But the one I have learned in the last 20 or so years, is praising God verbally, outloud.
Scarey, huh? But not really. If like me, you attended an old Methodist or Baptist church, you weren't taught to praise out-loud. Only Sunday school teachers and pastors do that, right? It's just not cool. The status quo does not accept people that verbally praise our Lord. "Aren't those kinds of folks zealous freaks?" Well ...not if you believe God's word. Let's open our minds and hearts and think about that a bit more.
The words, "praise God", is written 248 times in the KJV of the Bible. Psalms 100:4 says, "Enter into His Gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise." In this day and 911 times, where else do we want to be?
The book of Revelations talks about how, "All heaven praises God." So I'm thinking, I need to know how to fit in with all Heaven. There may not be a class available when we get there, Praise 101. I'm thinking it'll be a prerequisite and practice makes perfect.
It's a habit well worth developing, because the more we do it, the easier it gets. But the greatest thing happens! We begin to feel it and our words become alive and real, as we begin to see how great and awesome our God really is.
He inhabits our praise. He loves it! Of course our praise gets His attention! Who doesn’t like to be praised, if it’s sincere? Then, He opens our eyes to see even more; how Great Is our God. He Shows Himself to us and then we, in turn, turn more of our attention back on Him. It’s a give and take RELATIONSHIP. It’s Love!
Let's have a great and terrific weekend, friends! Please listen and enjoy this song of praise to Jesus. I know the angels will join in!
